Arcade Mural Project

Posting live from Riverside Arcade... The mural panels are being installed today and they look fantastic!

Thanks to the student artists at Riverside-Brookfield High School, the Riverside Arts Center, Metal Mites, ABAI, and countless community volunteers, for all their hard work. This is truly a beautiful collaboration of which we can all be proud!

Don't miss the official unveiling ceremony on Friday, December 4, 2009, at 5:15 PM (prior to the Holiday Walk).

Here is a sneak peek at some of the panels as they are being installed. We hope to see you on December 4!

These murals are fantastic! It reminds me of the Halloween murals we painted each year on storefront windows probably in the '40s and '50s. Great fun, sometimes messy.

Riverside was a fabulous place to grow up.

I remember the Arcade building so well. My dad even had an office there at one time until he bought a small building on Quincy and moved down there.

What's the latest - was this property sold on the market or is it still for sale?

Hi Brad - The Arcade's initial list price of $2.5 million was reduced to $1.99 million not too long ago.

The Arcade is a real opportunity, given all the potential historic tax credits, in a primo location by the train.

Anyone experienced in rehabbing historic commercial properties should contact the realtor at scott@lmteam.com to arrange a showing. The Village of Riverside also has a nice packet of information available, free for the asking!
